While the house owner Srinivasa Rao, a builder, was away at a construction site, his wife and daughter went out for shopping around 1 p.m. They returned home three hours later and found the main door ajar with its lock broken. The burglars ransacked the house and took away the Rs. 11 lakh kept beneath garments in a wooden almirah which was not locked.
