“I am back,” she declares with a firmness that has been her forte all along a successful career on the small screen.

Shilpa Chakraborty, the cheery and bubbly anchor who did not accept new assignments in last few months while she went on a break, has already started making her presence felt again.

Recently, she was on the telly hosting the ‘Santosham Awards’ live in her usual and inimitable style and thereby letting it known to the viewers about her return to the centre stage.

“I was away for few months for my child and now I have started picking up from where I had taken that brief pause,” she says.

However, even before going off camera, the professional that she is, Shilpa shot all the necessary episodes for running shows so that the telecast continued even during her break.

Presently hosting the popular signature show ‘Funday Awards’, the anchor who won laurels and fans with shows such as ‘Mera Naam Joker’, ‘Lucky Lakshmi’, ‘Aata’ and ‘Clap Kottu Bosu’, adds, “A couple of new concepts are happening which will take shape shortly. I am eagerly waiting to be back.”

Most sought after for hosting shows and events given her abilities in impromptu handling and also quick wit, Shilpa also has been part of shows such as ‘Paripoorna Mahila’, the one which won is quite a hit with women viewers.
